The British and Foreign Bible Society, was formed and funded by Evangelical Churches. They found themselves disturbed by an increasing tendency within the BFBS to depart from its mandate, and to include books in the Bibles published by BFBS, that the funders had not authorized. This caused several challenges. The Edinburgh Bible SOciety wrote to express its concern.
